Good evening Guy,
Yes visitors are welcome. I've had a dozen or so so far. The set-up is perfect. The bird is feeding at my thistle feeder which hangs in the backyard but is viewable from the front yard. I would appreciate if people would confine themselves to my front yard area left of the garage. So far the neighbors have been very accepting of the visitors because the visitors have been very polite. There is a big yellow lab normally behind a fence in the neighbor's yard that barks loudly and jumps high.
I live at 2924 Silo Court, Anderson, CA 96007. This street intersects Stingy Lane.
For those traveling on I-5 from the south, the exist to take is Balls Ferry Road in Anderson (2-3 miles beyond the Balls Ferry exit in Cottonwood). Head east to Stingy Lane, a T intersection, turn left, and turn left again at the silo onto Silo Court.
The bird is best seen early in the day. It first appears around 7:15 am. The latest it came today was about 12:30 pm. It has been here later other times. The first day I saw it was 2/3 at 2:30 pm. All week long I was pinching myself about the bird and hoping it would stay until the weekend so it would be a reliable bird for those hoping to see it. Unfortunately, those who arrived at 1pm and later today did not see it. All others who came earlier did.
I finally saw the undertail coverts today. They are lightly streaked.
