Hi Jean! Thanks for the info! Had no idea this was in the works. But I think you wanted to say .this is not* your average field guide. :-) Regards, Ed Ed

      Subject: [LACoBirds] New Field Guide

      Fellow Birders:

The new "Smithsonian Field Guide to the Birds of North America" is now
available at many locations. Ted Floyd, editor of "Birding" has put together
a splendid compilation of our birds and Brian Small is the photo editor - so
you see that this your average field guide. I heartily recommend that you
check it out. Oh, and it includes a downloadable DVD of 587 species of NA
      birds.

The retail price is $24.95 - well worth the price! You'll be glad you have
the opportunity to have this excellent guide in your birding library.

And no, I don't have any connection with the book. I'm just afraid that
people will miss it - I didn't know it even existed.

      Good birding,

      Jean Brandt

PS - Sorry for any cross-postings but I want everyone to know about this
      book.
