      The California Bird Records Committee (CBRC) is about to evaluating reports of Slaty-backed Gulls in California during this past winter. Reports known to the CBRC include an adult and a 3-W bird near Fort Dick DN, an adult near Orrick HUM, a 3-W on Humboldt Bay HUM, an adult and two 2-W birds near San Rafael MRN, at least three including two adults and a 2-W bird at Half Moon Bay SM, an adult at the Salinas R mouth MTY, and a 2-W bird in Pacific Grove MTY. The CBRC encourages observers to submit documentation for any other Slaty-backed Gull, along with documentation for any of the twelve listed above.
