      Birders,

The California Bird Records Committee has completed its review of two
potential new California state records and has accepted them both:

Taiga Flycatcher (Ficedula albicilla). One along Putah Creek near
Monticello Dam, Solano/Yolo Cos., 25 October 2006 (CBRC #2006-169). On
the state checklist insert this species (the sole California member of
the family Muscicapidae) between Black-tailed Gnatcatcher (Family
Sylviidae, subfamily Polioptilinae) and Red-flanked Bluetail (family
Turdidae) with symbols "*" (on CBRC review list) and "P"
      (photodocumentation; no specimen).

Ross's Gull (Rhodostethia rosea). One at Red Hill, s. end Salton Sea,
Imperial Co. 17-19 November 2006 (CBRC #2006-183). On the state
checklist insert this species between Red-legged Kittiwake and Ivory
Gull, with symbols "*" (on CBRC review list) and "P"
      (photodocumentation; no specimen).

The acceptance of these two species brings the California list to 634
      species (624 native, 10 introduced).
