Monterey Bay Storm-petrels (5 species)
- Saturday was a fine day on Monterey Bay sunny, low wind, moderate
temp, moderate swell - in contrast to yesterday.
Yesterday was the day for shearwater. Today was the day for storm-
petrels. Five (5) species were seen: Ashy, Black, Wilson's, Fork-
tailed and Least. A Sabine's Gull circled Fisherman's Wharf as we
motored out of the harbor. Black-footed Albatross and S. Polar Skua
again came close on multiple occasions. Tomorrow it's the Cordell
Bank from Bodega Bay.
