      Birders:

On November 20th the Los Angeles Audubon Society sponsored a pelagic
from Ventura harbor to the Northern Channel Islands. The highlights
were a remarkable 5 Flesh-footed Shearwaters (3 seen on the water in
the same flock). 3 Short-tailed Shearwaters,4 South Polar Skuas
(including one that sat on the water allowing close approach), as
well as a pair of Xantus Murrelets that also allowed close approach.

Other highlights were over 40 Pomarine jaegers, a wonderful feeding
flock of birds over a pod of Common Dolphin. The non-bird highlight
was a pod of six Killer Whales on the backside of Santa Cruz Island.
A full list of birds and mammals will be posted later.
