      The bottom line, as always, is: it's your list; do as you please. But this
      is a poster-child argument for listing NIB (No Introduced Birds). Whether
      the doves arrived from the east or expanded along the coast or how-ever,
      the species is not native to California or North America. Does that mean
      ignore the doves? No. Kimball and his colleagues have shown us that there
      is much to learn from following the exploits of exotic bird populations.
      But remove the guess work; simplify the rules of the game (which is all it
      is), and don't COUNT any of 'em.
