Del Norte Com. Eider 10 July
- The alternate plumage male COMMON EIDER in Crescent City, Del Norte County,
is still being seen by many folks as of 08:00 Saturday, 10 July. Up to date
info available on the Arcata Birdbox: 77-822-LOON. The bird is being seen
along the coastal drive (Pebble Beach Rd?) between Battery Point and Castle
Rock, feeding around rock bases and loafing on rocks.
Other nearby birds:
AMERICAN REDSTART, male singing, Crescent City. Found by Alan Barron on
Fri., 9 July (present 10 July) at Endert Beach Rd (south of the main
Crescent City beach) about 1.6 miles down from 101 near a trail heading
toward the beach with "no vehicle sign" near a single, very large Sitka
Possible YELLOW-GREEN VIREO near the town of Klamath at 101 and the Klamath
River. The bird has been heard and, less frequently, seen about 1 mile up
river (east) from 101 on the south side of the Klamath at the east end of a
gravel yard with a yellow gate.
GRAY CATBIRD was found by Ken Irwin Fri., 9 July, near the Mad River Fish
Hatchery near Blue Lake, Humboldt County.
