The COMMON EIDER is still present in Crescent City, Friday 7/9 . A scope
is needed for good looks. For more detailed and up to date reports call
      the Arcata Birdbox: 707-822-LOON (5666).

If you are planning on looking for the YELLOW-GREEN VIREO along the
Klamath River, Del Norte County, be advised that the bird has not been
conclusively identified and is difficult to view when the wind picks up
around 11:00-noon. Fleeting glimpses of the bird yesterday (7/8) suggest
Yellow-green, but do not rule out Red-eyed Vireo. To get to the LOCATION:
from the south side of the Klamath River and 101 head east on Klamath
Beach Rd; Turn north (left) into a gravel pit area with a yellow gate in
approx. 1 mile; Immediately turn east (right) on a gravel road and park
near a closed yellow gate. The bird as been regularly in the tall alders
to the north-west of the yellow gate, but Thursday was observed in the
alders south of the yellow gate along the gravel road. Overall the area
has tons of great habitat and offers lots of good birding; keep your ears
      open for Willow Flycatcher.
