Cordell Bank in the late summer and early fall has a diversity of marine
birds and mammals almost unmatched in North America. Blue whales are almost
guaranteed, and at least 11 other cetacean species are possible. Likely
birds include murrelets, puffins, albatrosses, shearwaters, fulmars,
storm-petrels, jaegers, skuas, gulls, terns, auklets, and phalaropes. We've
chartered the New Sea Angler, Bodega Bay's biggest and fastest fishing boat,
for this adventure. Meet at Port O'Bodega, at the end of Bay Flat Road in
Bodega Bay, at 6:30 for a prompt 7:00 departure. Take plenty of food and
liquids; no refreshments are available on board. Take necessary precautions
against seasickness and sunburn and dress in layers. Cancellation due to
weather is extremely unlikely; call 707-875-3495 the day before to check.
