      Monterey Bay Whalewatch on May 13 to the area 5-15 miles W from Pt.
      Pinos had the following birds and mammals of interest:
      Sooty Shearwater - low hundreds;
      Pink-footed Shearwater - 20 to 30;
      Black-footed albatross - about 10;
      Phalaropes - three groups about 10 birds each;
      Cassin's auklets - 4;
      Yellow warbler - 1, landing on the boat;
      Humpback whale - 2;
      Long-billed common dolphins - 12-15;
      Pacific white-sided dolphins - appr. 20;
      N. elephant seals - 2;
      Sea otter - 1 far offshore;
      Killer whales - transient pod of appr. 6 adults and 1 calf, first
      seen chasing pws dolphins, later killing an elephant seal.
      Also, huge numbers of Velella velella (by-the-wind sailor jellyfish),
      and one ocean sunfish.
