      > The Falcated Duck was located again in Lassen County during the Honey Lake
      > CBC. It was seen by Brad Stovall and Mary Nordstom on 2 Jan 03 at the
      closed
      > area of the Honey Lake Wildlife Area, Fleming Unit. This area is the on
      the
      > same side of the road where the duck was seen last year However, it was
      seen
      > on a pond not visible from the roadside. It was in the company of
      > Green-winged Teal and Gadwall. After observing it for approx 10 mins, it
      flew
      > off and was not seen again on any other ponds that day.

The bird may be moving all over the place! It's still hunting season at HLWA
so access to the refuge is off-limits right now. Since the only water seems
to be on the refuge it may well be problematic to attempt to find the
      bird...
