      Calbirds:

The Glossy Ibis (Plegadis falcinellus) is now added to the California State
List on the basis of acceptance of a record of an adult (the "dark-legged"
bird) at the south end of the Salton Sea IMP 1-15 July 2000. This brings the
      state total to 616 species.

Two other Glossy Ibis records from SESS during the same period, as well
as one in Twentynine Palms RIV August 1999, have received substantial support
from the committee but will circulate for another round of voting.

The 2000 record of Black-backed Oriole from near Imperial Beach SD received
unanimous committee support regarding identification, but will circulate
      again
to address the issue of natural origin and to take into account the apparance
of what is likely the same bird in 2001.
