      On Saturday, June 7th, there was a pelagic trip off San Diego aboard 
      "Grande" to the 9-Mile and 30-Mile Banks--all in San Diego County 
      waters. Conditions were good. Bird numbers were spotty, but very good 
      looks were had of almost everything. Highlights included Black-footed 
      Albatross, Leach's and Ashy Storm-Petrels, 2 Brown Boobies, and a pair 
      of Scripps's Murrelets. Offshore species found included:
      
      BLACK-FOOTED ALBATROSS:  1
      NORTHERN FULMAR:  2  (rare in summer)
      Pink-footed Shearwater:  42
      Sooty Shearwater:  300
      BLACK-VENTED SHEARWATER:  1  (rare in June)
      Black Storm-Petrel:  45
      LEACH'S STORM-PETREL:  1  (white rumped)
      ASHY STORM-PETREL:  13  (a high count)
      BROWN BOOBY:  2  (sub-adult, full adult)
      Red Phalarope:  1
      SCRIPPS'S MURRELET:  2  (typical departure date)
      murrelet sp.:  1
      Cassin's Auklet:  31
      Least Tern: 7
      Elegant Tern:  330
      
      Fin Whale:  1
      
      Zuniga Jetty
      BLACK OYSTERCATCHER:  1
      
      The next scheduled Buena Vista Audubon pelagic trips aboard "Grande" are 
      in mid-September (already sold out), early October, and early November.
