Ten Species of Tubenoses
- Howdy, CalBirders,
Shearwater Journeys' August 17th pelagic trip departing from Half Moon Bay and heading into San Mateo and San Francisco waters, recorded a whopping 10 species of tubenoses, including a "first of the season," FLESH-FOOTED SHEARWATER in SF County.
A single LAYSAN ALBATROSS followed us for at least three hours, being recorded in both San Francisco and San Mateo Counties. The BLACK STORM-PETRELS and single WILSON'S STORM-PETREL were found in San Mateo County.
