The adult Lesser Sand-Plover continues at the pond/mud/dirt to the west of
the north end of 7th St. in Imperial Beach on Monday morning. Birders had
been present on site since fairly early in the morning with no sightings
until the bird magically appeared in front of the assembled masses at 9:40
AM. How long it had actually been present and whether it just flew in on
its own or had been hiding behind salicornia is anyone's guess. High tide
today there was at about 10:30AM.

Earlier this morning I had no luck finding either the Sharp-tailed
Sandpiper or the Stilt Sandpiper at the sites they frequented on Friday and
Saturday. The sunny skies and lack of marine layer this morning meant that
lighting and heat haze was more of an issue, but they weren't where they
      had been...

An unseasonal Canada Goose is at Dairy Mart Pond, probably a spin-off bird
from one of the localized feral populations elsewhere in the county (e.g.,
      Lindo Lake).
