> The paid lot is free for 20 min, then $1/hour. Sunday at 10 am there were a good number of free spaces on the road near the entrance to the paid lot Just south of the entrance to the paid lot, a break in the trees gives a view of the sandy beach from the sidewalk above, and you can scan for birders on the beach.
> Find the driveway-width dirt path south of the entrance to the paid lot, and walk downhill 1 minute to the beach.
> The rocky point is called Pt. Fermin. For an overview drive all the way south on Pacific. It dead ends at an overlook/mini park where you can take in the sweeping view.
> The Wagtail spent most of the time Sunday am on the sandy beach well above the high tide line catching insects amidst patches of kelp and other debris. Occasionally it flew to the rocks at Pt Fermin but not for long.
> Excellent light on the bird. Beach faces south, with winter sun low to the south all day.
