The California Bird Records Committee has accepted California's first
record of Common Ringed-Plover (Charadrius hiaticula), a widely-seen
bird present near Davis, Yolo Co. 19-26 August 2011.

This species is placed between Wilson's Plover and Semipalmated Plover
on the state checklist, with the symbol *PV (photo/video documentation),
and added to the Review List. This record brings the California state
      list to 645 species.

Joe Morlan has updated the state list and the review list on the CBRC
      web site: http://www.californiabirds.org/list.html
