      Hello, Birders,

There has been a large concentration of several species of raptors along a 7 mile stretch of Santa Ana Valley Road, in SAN BENITO COUNTY. This included: up to 13 FERRUGINOUS HAWKS in view at once; 10 GOLDEN EAGLES; 11 AMERICAN KESTRELS; 6 WHITE-TAILED KITES; 13 RED-TAILED HAWKS. Additionally, a pair of BALD EAGLES has been fairly consistent at Paicines Reservoir. PRAIRIE FALCONS and NORTHERN HARRIERS have also been in this area. The raptors are feeding on ground squirrels that have been disturbed by recent discing. Many of the raptors, especially the Ferruginous Hawks and Golden Eagles, are on the ground´┐Ż sometimes not far from the road. This is an excellent opportunity for photographers. All birding on Santa Ana Valley Road, is on paved public roads. For details of exact location and images:
