    Greetings All;

    Enclosed please find the drawing of the Castillo de San Juan Bautista
    on the island of Tenerife in the Canary Islands. The castle was built
    by the illustrious military engineer, Leonardo Torriani following his
    extensive studies of the defenses of the port of Santa Cruz de
    Tenerife. This study revealed that the main fortress, San Cristobal
    Castle should be flanked by two castles in order to cover a long sea
    front area. The defense study was completed in the year 1587, and the
    castillo was built in 1641- 1644. The castle (San Bautista) is known
    locally as the Castle Negro, because of the volcanic stone used to
    construct the fort. The forts were set up in order to stop the
    pirates who raided the city repeatedly for treasure and slaves in the
    early part of the fifteenth century.

    Respectfully Submitted;
