the newspaper was published for the first time on September 10 ( actually printed n Fridays with a Saturday date.)
Byron received AM's acceptance on the 18th and the letter denying an engagement was published the 5 of Oct.
The Durham County Advertiser had been the Newcastle Advertiser.
So that means that the notice of the wedding to come must have been in the 23/24 or the 30/1 edition.
I think the 23/24 edition because it would have taken some days for the paper to arrive in London or a letter to have gone forth with the news.
On the other hand if The London papers had had that news by the 27 or 28th, I would think it would have been published by one of them in the news of the fashionable world. Byron was a well known name.
Any ideas or clues as to dates?
Has any biography ever found a copy of the notice?
I can't find that such notices were common , for I have seen none in any of the actual newspapers I have or in the .PDF I have of the Morning Chronicles.
It is hard to read them.
