Welcome to the Burma Courier egroup service and site.
The Burma Courier is starting up again after suspending publication last
July. This week's issue will be posted on this site on Oct 7 and weekly
The Courier covers a wide range of political, economic, human rights and
other news from the Burma (Myanmar) scene on a weekly basis. Our news
sources cover the whole gamut from mainstream to grass roots. We also have
an extensive network of 'correspondents' and good background files that
enable us to give depth and interest to the stories we cover.
Readers who previously received the Courier by direct email are encouraged
to subscribe to the egroup service, as it offers the option of
'viewing at leisure'. To access this option, use the 'Modify' link in the
upper right hand corner of the 'main page' of the Courier egroup site and
select the option 'Dont send me email. I'll read the messages at the
website'. If you choose this option, it's a good idea to bookmark the
site, so that you can get to it easily. You can get to this page directly
through the link: http://www.egroups.com/group/BurmaCourier
It's easy to send the Editor your comments, letters or news by emailing
If you want your comments to attract the attention of other readers, then
it's best to subscribe to the canada-burma egroup where the Burma Courier
will also be posted. Any subscriber can post on the canada-burma egroup,
but the Courier website will be reserved for the weekly issues.
