This is a monthly posting of the guidelines for participation in the
      BuffaloHistory Mailing List.

Please keep to the subject. The topic of the list is Buffalo history. This
includes, but is not limited to, discussion and announcements regarding local
history, genealogy, historic preservation, research, libraries, archives, etc.,
related specifically to the Buffalo, New York metropolitan area. Memories of
life in Buffalo, of weather, people, businesses, stores, restaurants, and, of
      course, food are also appropriate.

When quoting messages, please do not quote the entire message. Just quote the
parts that are needed to make the appropriate references.

Flames are absolutely prohibited. If you disagree with someone, feel
free to argue the facts, but no personal attacks will be tolerated.

Do not post personal messages. Please use direct email. This list is
international in scope and personal messages are not appropriate.

Please do not use HTML to format messages. Not everyone has an HTML
enabled message reader and the extra text can cause problems for some
      subscribers.

Collecting or "mining" of email address from this mailing list or from the
      associated web archive is prohibited.

Each poster retains copyright ownership of the content of their postings,
however, YahooGroups is granted the necessary license to redistribute it to the
other members of the group. Copyrighted material should not be posted without
the permission of the copyright owner. The determination of copyright is up to
      each individual poster.

Violation of the above guidelines will be determined by the moderator
and will result in a polite request to refrain from violations in the future,
except during the winter months when the penalty will be a snow shoveling
      session in the south towns.

If you have questions or comments about these guidelines, please feel
free to contact the moderator, Chris Andrle, via e-mail at
      BuffaloHistory-owner@yahoogroups.com.
