12 years ago on May 17th (Thursday) the Chinese government kidnapped
the Panchen Lama, a 6-year old boy named Gedun Choekyi Nyima. A few
weeks ago on April 25th, the Panchen Lama's 18th birthday, Tashi Lhunpo
Monastery repeated its demands to the Chinese government that it
provide exact information concerning his whereabouts.

Thus, we are requesting an email, fax or letter be sent to the Chinese
embassy in Prague, Czech Republic, to coincide with a public event on
      May 17th (lungta.cz/panchenlama).

In addition to this action, we encourage the support of an ongoing
campaign which invites concerned individuals to take an active role in
helping to find the Panchen Lama. Even though 18, the Chinese
government recently said it still regards Gedun Choekyi Nyima as a boy
and will not allow him access to the world community.

You are therefore encouraged to make pledges toward an ongoing reward
fund which currently totals $32,490 USD; 78 pledges from donors living
in Argentina, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland,
Netherlands, Poland, Slovenia, UK and the USA. To make it clear, pledge
money will not be collected until contact has been made via the
      campaign. Visit tashilhunpo.org/amber_alert for information.

Remember the Panchen Lama is second only to the Dalai Lama in the Gelug school. The boy held by the Chinese was recognized by HH and that's when the Chinese became threatened and took the Panchen Lama, who at the time was the youngest political prisoner in the world. He has a role to fill alongside his HH and needs to be in Dharamsala. Going back to the 1500s (I think) the Dalai recognizes the Panchen and the Panchen recognizes the Dalai in this cycle.

Please help bring attention to this by sending the letter outlined below (e-mail is free!).
