Traleg Rinpoche will teach on Point Four of Ju Mipham's seminal text The Beacon of Certainty. This is one of the most widely studied and popular works on the middle way perspective and is based upon the dzogchen view of emptiness.
Traleg Kyabgon Rinpoche is the president and spiritual director of E-Vam Institute NY. Born in 1955 in Nangchen, Eastern Tibet and enthroned as the supreme abbot of Thrangu Monastery at age two by H.H. XVI Gyalwa Karmapa. Rinpoche had to flee his native land at the age of four and escaped with his party to Bhutan and from there to Rumtek where he was educated with the other young tulkus by H.H. Karmapa until he was nine. Rinpoche then went to Sang-ngak Choling monastery near Darjeeling ad studied under the guidance of H.E Thugsey Rinpoche. At age 25, Rinpoche moved to Australia and established Kagyu E-Vam Institute in Melbourne. The title Kyabgon was given to Rinpoche by H.H. Karmapa and constitutes a significant distinction that is retained by only a few lineage holders in Tibet.
