I don't know all that much specifically about the Wotton genealogy, but I do
know that there are tons of Wottons still in the area. I grew up in
Washington, which is the next town west of Waldoboro, but am now living in
Colorado. You might want to consider contacting some of the Wotton family
members in Friendship.

Subject: [BroadBayMEGen] 6 Days visiting Cushing, Friendship, Waldoboro
I just got back from 6 days at a cottage in Cushing. I spent a lot of time
at the German Cemetery in Waldoboro, The Waldoboro Library, The Friendship
Library and Waldoboro Town Clerks Office. I finally identified my Great,
Great Uncles wife. Edward Brackett, Jr., was married to Lillian Smith of
Elsworth. I still haven't identified the parents of my Great, Great
Grandmother, Sarah J. Wotton who married Edward Brackett, Sr., on March 27,
1856. Sarah J. Wotton was born in Friendship February 17, 1835, and died in
Waldoboro on March 17, 1874, Just after the birth of my Great Grandmother
Sarah (Sadie) Belle Brackett. Sadie married John Henry Martel on August 27,
1895, at Waldoboro. John Henry was from Worcester, Ma.
Anyone working on the Wotton Family?
There was a bit of information in file folders on various Broad Bay Families
in both libraries. This was an excellent vacation from a genealogy
My Daughter, Sarah J. Normandin was married September 23, 2001, in a civil
ceremony to Wayland James Cole at the German Protestant Society Church in
Waldoboro. That was the purpose of our week there.
