Group Description

Ma-a is strategically located between the Davao River and the picturesque Shrine Hills. Served by major bus lines, taxis, jeepneys and private vehicles on modern uncrowded roads, it provides easy access to airports, nearby modern shopping malls, international class hotels, family entertainment, nightlife, schools, sports facilities, and the rest of Davao and Mindanao.

Ma-a's work force is varied and up to date and includes the University of Mindanao college campus. A large college trained population are available for any project as well as building trades workers, mechanics, carpenters, electricians, plumbers and other skilled and unskilled workers.

Business friendly Ma-a and Davao City will help you understand and deal with all aspects of starting your profitable business here.

Ma-a's excellent record of peace and order is matched by few other barangays in Davao City or in Manila. It has its own local police force called Tanods and volunteer fire fighters and fire truck. Additional police and fire support is available by calling 911.

Barangays are the smallest unit of elected government with the next higher level being the Mayor and City Council of Davao. Management of the Barangay is carried out by the elected Punong Barangay, commonly referred to as the Chairman or Captain and an elected board of directors called Kagawads, elected at large.

Located in Davao City's First District and Regional XI's First Congressional District, Ma-a is represented by Karlo Nograles.
