      NOV.29 CDIR-PEOPLES CORE FORUM ON IMMIGRANT RIGHTS AND WELFARE REFORM
      AFTER SEPT.11 SET IN LA

      Los Angeles -What is in store for immigrants after Sept.11? What are
      the changes they have to contend with with the passage of the Anti-Terrorism
      Law last October 29?

      These will be the topics to be discussed by the forum sponsored by the
      Coalition to Defend Immigrant Rights(CDIR) and Peoples Community
      Organization for Reform and Empowerment(Peoples CORE)on November 29 at
      6:00 PM at the A3PCON Center, 300W.Cesar Chavez Ave. Los Angeles.

      The Coalition and PEOPLES CORE invites all immigrants and their
      families, especially the undocumented immigrants, immigrant rights advocates
      and organizations, human rights activists, community members and all
      interested persons and parties to attend.

      The speakers are Kent Wong of the UCLA Labor Center;Stewart Kwoh, Esq.
      Executive Director, Asian Pacific American Legal Center of Southern
      California(APALC-SC) and Tom Walsch of HERE Local 814 who will expound
      on the issues of immigrant rights and welfare reform and the recently
      passed Anti Terrorism Law (PATRIOT ACT)in the US congress.

      After the Sept.11 incident there was an upsurge of violent and
      discriminative incidents against immigrants especially among the Arabs
      and South Asians. The forum would like to discuss the legal and the other
      implications of the immigrant rights and welfare reform as well as the anti
      terorrism issues with the community.
