      BOYCOTT TACO BELL

      Forum at UC Berkeley:
      Wed., Sept. 12, 7 pm
      209 Dwinelle.

There will be video, speakers and discussion.

Taco Bell uses tomatoes picked by the Coalition of Immokalee Workers.
The farmworkers work in dehumanizing working conditions in sweatshops in
the fields with no benefits for below poverty wages. To learn more visit
      www.ciw-online.org.

      Tomato pickers: $7,500 per year.

Taco Bell: $5.2 billion in revenues in 1999.

Farmworkers in Florida have called a nationwide boycott of Taco Bell
because Taco Bell refuses to talk to them about their working
conditions. They have no health insurance, no sick leave, no paid
holidays, no paid vacations, no pension, and they are denied the right
to organize a union and the right to overtime pay for overtime work.
Meanwhile, Tricon Global, which owns Taco Bell, owns more restaurants
than any company in the world!

Sponsored by: UCB Farm Worker Support Committee, Solidarity, Students
Organizing for Justice in the Americas, California Students Against
      Sweathops, MEChA de UCB.
