      Latino Immigrants Quickly Lose Spanish-Media Habit

      A new survey of the media habits of Hispanic Americans has both bad news and
      good news for the many newspapers now jumping into Spanish-language
      publication.

      The World According to Spanish or English Language News Media News
      According to a report entitled "Changing Channels and Crisscrossing Cultures:
      A Survey of Latinos on the News Media," issued by the Pew Hispanic Center,
      many more Latinos get at least some of their news in both English and Spanish
      than in just one language or the other.

      Goodlatte (R.-Va.), chair of the House Agriculture Committee.

      Controlling the Border
      The US government continues to step up controls on the Arizona-Mexico border,
      the scene of increased migrant smuggling and violence. The Border Patrol is
      planning to use remote-controlled aircraft to spot migrants and to bring the
      number of agents in Tucson to 1,900. There have been about 40,000 apprehensions
      a month in FY04 along the Arizona-Mexico border.
