      Date/
      Time: December 05, 2009 at 1000am

      Purpose:

      1)
      To
reduce the occurrence of preventable vehicle theft and burglaries.

      2)
      To
provide comprehensive and beneficial crime prevention information to Hawthorne residents.

      Location:                           Hawthorne Police Department

      12501 South
        Hawthorne Blvd

      Hawthorne, Ca. 90250

      Attention: After a
short briefing at the police station, citizens will assigned safety gear and
carpool to the designated area in order to begin citizen patrol walk

Operation:          The Hawthorne Police Department along
with C.H.A.T members will participate in a crime prevention education
      initiative targeting Hawthorne’s
shopping districts (e.g. Oceangate, Target, 24 Hr Fitness, Costco).  A team of citizens accompanied by a uniformed
Hawthorne Police Officer will conduct visual inspections of vehicles parked in
the targeted parking areas. The team members will then evaluate the vehicle’s
degree of vulnerability (i.e. Valuables left in view; unlocked doors and opened
windows). The team members will then make written recommendations on a Crime Prevention Report Card (CPRC) and
properly place the card on the inspected vehicle’s front windshield.  Uniformed police officers will remain in the
designated areas providing a high police visibility and will be poised to
address any public inquiries or safety concerns.

      Please contact Sergeant
Robbie Williams, 1 310 349-2822, if you have any questions or concerns.
