Since this page is called Bodger Park, shouldn't the criteria reflect issues pertaining to Bodger Park and Bodger Park only ?

I am one of the moderators of this group.  The group has been running since November 2003 so we are quickly approaching our 10th anniversary!  While the group's stated purpose is to improve life in Bodger Park, it has never been restricted to neighborhood residents only.  Mayor Juarez is a member as have been several councilmembers and commission members over the years.  Others like Jose Guitterez, who lives in Holly Park, not Bodger Park, have helped when we fought the trash recycling facility because he was concerned about Hawthorne in general.

Unfortunately the Bodger Park Neighborhood Association died a slow death after its founding president Brent Morgan was unable to continue serving.  But thankfully this loop has continued and even though it has very low membership (only 100  in a neighborhood of over 700 homes), it has served to keep important lines of communication open.

We can certainly change the parameters of the loop.  We can develop guidelines for what is appropriate to post.  Once those guidelines are in place, we moderators can ask any who do not abide by them to leave the loop.  So, rather than look backward at what people wouldn't want to see posted, let's move forward in a positive manner.

Can we come up with some specific criteria that a post should adhere too?

      Let's hear your thoughts,
      Penny Ross

      Dear Yahoo Group Administrator:
Please let me know if our “Bodger Park Neighborhood Assn” Yahoo Group is
now going to fall prey to advertising for:
“Katrina Manning – Hawthorne City Council Candidate and Realtor”
Thinly disguised as public MATH WORKSHOP and JOB FAIR ADVERTISING messages.
If so, we immediately need an alternative Yahoo Group,
where only neighbors are allowed to post items which are truly of interest to us all.
My personal opinion is that Katrina Manning needs to generate her own email list,
Not “happen” to insert her candidacy info as part of a supposed “public service message.”
We already get enough of that info in the junk-mail ads.
I am disappointed that this was allowed.
      Regards, Lisa
