      GRANGER AT CHERRY HILL

      22 SEPTEMBER 2013

I spent an hour at mid-day along Emerald Road on the south flank of Cherry
Hill. This stretch of the Yakima River, discovered by Eric Heisey, continues
to be a really good site on the local birding trail. In the hour I birded
the river and riparian habitats here, I tallied 39 species. Best for me were
nine WILD TURKEYS in the cobbles and brush by the river.

      Canada Goose 40
      Gadwall 1
      American Wigeon 5
      Mallard 20
      Northern Pintail 2

      Belted Kingfisher 2
      Downy Woodpecker 1
      Northern Flicker 7
      American Kestrel 1
