Eric Heisey and I did the White Pass route for the Yakima Migration Count today. Starting at 2:20 am and ending at 8:20 this eve. Our route is Hwy. 12 from the junction if Hwy. 12 and 410 to the crest of White Pass. For the day we tallied 109 species and 977 individuals. We also had Common Merganser in Naches on our way home, though it was outside of our route and I swung through Yakima to nab screech owl prior to picking Eric up.
First summer Bonaparte's gull on Clear Lake
Red-eyed Vireo- Tieton Nature Trail.
Good birds (but regular on this route):
Black-throated gray warbler
Misses (some of these were fairly notable):
Northern saw-whet owl
I'll tally results later this week when all the teams report. Off to bed now for some rest!
