Tri Cities Burrowing Owl Cam
- Some in this group might know that we have had a web cam at a site near Pasco for several years. This winter the natural burrow collapsed and no owls were seen at the site. However, yesterday a small band of volunteers replaced the natural burrow with an artificial one but using the same exit as the natural burrow. Today (in less than 24 hrs) a young male took up residence and is awaiting a companion. The web site with a new camera can be seen at
In each of the past 7 years the resident pairs have raised from 10 to 14 young each season. One the young emerge in early May the action begins in earnest. This year the camera has infra-red capabilities so action should be visible well into the night.
