I have a 1974 Eldorado convertible. There is rain water leaking into the trunk through an area where the top fabric meets the shiny metal above the trunk to the left of the rear window, as you face the rear of the car. It is not the trunk seal under the trunk lid. When the top is folded (down) I can see into the trunk from this area. There appears to be a series of metal rods stitched in to the top fabric. I can’t see into the trunk on the right side and center, the fabric it tight to the trim strip. It looks like the repair is made from inside the trunk. Has anyone had this problem and fix it? I am a 6’5” 325 pound senior; so I would like to complete this repair with ONE trip into the trunk. Should the top be up or down when making this repair?
Thanks for your help
