Group Description

You make at least 3, but no more than 6 ornaments to swap. Making sure that no more than 3 ornaments are alike. We need variety. The size of your ornaments needs to be reasonable. Unless you are making a stand alone piece, one that doesn't hang on a tree, but instead sits on a shelf, please keep all ornaments smaller than 6 inches square.

Remember, all these ornaments will be swapped and repacked in someone else's box for the trip to other homes. So we need them to fit!

The ornaments can be made so that they hang on a tree, on the wall, on a doorknob or something that sits on a shelf. Nothing too big.
The ornaments may be made using fabrics, formed from wood, from clay or any other reasonable material. NO FOOD/EDIBLE ELEMENTS ALLOWED!!

You may use glitters, sequins, beads, bangles, feathers, furs, ribbons or laces. Just about anything you have in your stash can be used on these ornaments. There is a list of free on-line patterns in the FILES.

You may use some pieces that are commercially made/store bought, as a base to complete your ornament. BUT, the ornaments must be predominately YOUR creations.

***NO popsicle-stick reindeer, pom-pon snowmen, etc. Inappropriate ornaments will be returned to the makers, un-swapped. Let's try to make these ornaments stand out for being wonderful, colorful and exquisitely made.

Each swapper must work cleanly, no hanging threads, no blobs of miss-laid glue, that sort of thing. The level of skill is not as important as the attention to the details. Just make sure your ornament is well made, able to stand the shipping process and is something that will be enjoyed for years to come.

Each swapper mails their carefully packaged ornaments to ARRIVE here, in Texas, no later than November 27th, 2010.

This is an edited portion of the rules for this swap. Please go to the FILES section to view the full guidelines.

Return postage monies must be in the form of personal check, US postage stamps, cash or money order.
