The Bible records an end-time great earthquake at Jerusalem (Rev.11:13 below) just prior to the Seventh Trumpet ascension (1 Thess.4:16-17 below). Jerusalem will play its dual role as Mystery Babylon (Rev.11:8 below) once the false prophet sits in the temple of God showing himself that he is God (2 Thess.2:4 below).

2 Thess.2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth HIMSELF above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God (Rev.11:1), shewing HIMSELF that he is God (Dan.11:36-37).

Isa.1:21 How is the faithful CITY (Jerusalem, the Pleasant Land, Dan.8:9) become an harlot (that great city Babylon)! It was full of judgment; righteousness lodged in it; but now murderers.

Rev.11:13 And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the CITY (Rev.11:8 below) fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the REMNANT (in the city, the 144,000 Elect, Rev.14:3, Zeph.3:13 below) were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.

Rev.11:8 And their dead bodies (the two prophets, Rev.11:10, Rev.18:24, Rev.16:6) shall lie in the street of the GREAT CITY, which spiritually is called Sodom AND Egypt (Rev.22:3), WHERE ALSO OUR LORD WAS CRUCIFIED (Isa.1:21, Rev.11:13 above).

Rev.14:3 And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn the song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which WERE REDEEMED FROM THE EARTH (Rev.11:13 above).

Zeph.3:13 The REMNANT OF ISRAEL (Rev.11:13, Rev.14:1, Rev.14:4) shall not do iniquity, nor speak lies; neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth: for they shall feed and lie down, and none shall make them afraid.

1 Thess.4:16 For the Lord HIMSELF shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God (Rev.10:7): and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

1 Thess.4:17 Then we which are alive and remain (the remnant, Rev.11:13 above) shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

The remnant of Israel, who we see giving glory to God (Rev.11:13 above), are in the city, seen just before the Seventh, and final, Trumpet sounds (1 Thess. 4:16 above) and are those who are "alive and remain" to be caught up (1Thess.4:17 above). They are 12,000 of each of the twelve tribes of Israel, 144,000.

The seven thousand of men slain in the earthquake, wherein the tenth part of the city falls in the earthquake (Rev.11:3 above) are Gentiles. At this point in time, the two prophets have already been killed (Rev.11:8-12). The only remaining alive of the church of God at the time of that earthquake, just prior to their ascension, are the 144,000 Elect.

The 144,000 Elect are Jews in Christ recognizing Jesus Christ as the Lamb, the Savior (Rev.14:1).
