Group Description

As abuse survivors, we "Echos" come from all walks of life, but share one common element; we all encountered a toxic and abusive relationship at some point in our lives that has had a profound effect on our lives and our own behaviors.

Many of us began life in a toxic family of origin and were molded by that dysfunctional relationship while others encountered the toxic relationship years later. We developed such common traits as: chronic depression, indecisiveness, lack of self esteem and self confidence. We tend to have a chronic need to please but have the inability to identify our own feelings, wants, or needs. We tend to want constant validation of choices we make. In recovery -as adults –we no longer want or need to be defines by that toxic relationship.

We want to claim a new life and go forward developing healthy relationships with others as well as with ourselves! We believe in praise and encouragement rather than the use of criticism and unsolicited advice giving. We believe all members have the capability of learning life's needed lessons by natural consequences over the course of time. But we do not place a time line on one’s recovery efforts. It fact, recovery is viewed as a life time journey.

We seek to change only ourselves...NOT others.

Our program is self directed one. New members begin by answering a series of questions from the 12 Steps to Self Programming and Retraining. The entire data base of questions is available to members in the FILE section from our home page. Most receive recovery that is proportional to the amount of effort working the 12 Steps and their willingness to be open to accepting and using others’ successful life experiences to learn their own life lessons.

"GOD GRANT ME THE SERENITY TO ACCEPT THE THINGS I CANNOT CHANGE, THE COURAGE TO CHANGE THE THINGS I CAN AND THE WISDOM TO KNOW THE DIFFERENCE. - KEEP COMING
