Note to the Readers: This is my first attempt at Fanfic about

is this weird E looking thing. Sorry for the confusion, i'll have to
      fix that next time.

      0900am
      Admiral€  '   '€  ²s Office
      JAG Headquarters
      Falls Church, Virginia

€  '   '€  ³Commander Rabb and Colonel MacKenzie reporting as ordered
      sir€  '   '€  ´ Harm
said as Mac and him entered the Admiral€  '   '€  ²s office.

€  '   '€  ³Sit down Commander, Colonel. We have just gotten word
      from Webb
that he would like to speak to you and the Colonel as soon as
possible and he€  '   '€  ²s on his way over here right now. Now,
      whatever
      Webb
is up to, don€  '   '€  ²t let him talk you into anything you
      don€  '   '€  ²t want
      to do.
We know he was a way of doing that sometimes. So, just be
      caref-€  '   '€  ´,
Admiral Chegwidden was interrupted by Webb loudly entering his
office. Tiner was standing at the door just behind him.

€  '   '€  ³Sorry sir, I tried to tell him you were in a meeting with
      Commander
Rabb and Colonel MacKenzie but he wouldn€  '   '€  ²t
      stop.€  '   '€  ´ Tiner
      explained,
hoping he wouldn€  '   '€  ²t be at the receiving end of the
      Admiral€  '   '€  ²s
      wrath as
      he had been lately.

€  '   '€  ³Thank you, Tiner, Dismissed. Webb, do you ever
      knock?€  '   '€  ´ he
      asked,
      quite disgusted.

Webb just began to speak, €  '   '€  ³Commander, I have some
      unfortunate
      news
concerning Lt. Austin, and some good news concerning Lt. Austin.
Which would you like to hear first?€  '   '€  ´

      Harm eyed Webb wearily, €  '   '€  ³What€  '   '€  ²s the bad news,
      Webb?€  '   '€  ´

€  '   '€  ³Lt. Austin has been accused of espionage on three
      accounts. With
      the
      Russians, Vietnamese, and Iranians.€  '   '€  ´

Harm flew out of his seat, lunging at Webb. Mac jumped up at the same
time, knowing he would get mad, and somewhat successfully held him
back The Admiral stepped in between the two men.

      €  '   '€  ³STAND DOWN, COMMANDER€  '   '€  ´ he yelled.

Harm backed away from Webb and paced over to the corner of the office
to gather himself. Mac followed him there.

€  '   '€  ³Harm, don€  '   '€  ²t let Webb get to you. You know
      that€  '   '€  ²s what he
      wants.
Knowing Webb, he€  '   '€  ²s probably exaggerating things. Are you
      settled?€  '   '€  ´
she asked, placing her hand on his arm.

      Harm took a deep breath, €  '   '€  ³Yes, I€  '   '€  ²m
      fine.€  '   '€  ´

Harm and Mac returned to where the Admiral was in Webb€  '   '€  ²s
      face.

      €  '   '€  ³Now Webb, what is this all about?€  '   '€  ´ he asked.

Webb backed away from the Admiral, straightened his tie and
      said €  '   '€  ³It€  '   '€  ²s like I said, Lt. Austin has been
      accused of
      espionage on
      three accounts.€  '   '€  ´

      €  '   '€  ³And, the good news, Webb?€  '   '€  ´ Harm asked.

€  '   '€  ³Well, Lt. Austin has requested that you defend her.
      You€  '   '€  ²ll
      get to
      see her again.€  '   '€  ´

Now it was the Admiral€  '   '€  ²s turn to jump at Webb. This time,
      no one
tried to stop it. €  '   '€  ³What the heck do you think
      you€  '   '€  ²re doing,
      Webb?
Coming into my office, upsetting one of my officers and now, telling
one of MY lawyers under MY command that they€  '   '€  ²re going to
      defend a
client. Last time I checked, I was the Judge Advocate General and you
were a snitchy agent who can€  '   '€  ²t find anything better to do
      with
      his
time than come in here and wreak havoc on this office. Now,
      I€  '   '€  ²m
fairly certain nothing has changed since I saw you last so I suggest
you sit down and let me run JAG before I haul your butt out of here
so fast, you won€  '   '€  ²t know what happened. Is that
      clear?€  '   '€  ´

      Webb squirmed uncomfortably, €  '   '€  ³Sir, I€  '   '€  ²m not
      under your chain
      of
command but I will try to do my best to aggravate you
      further.€  '   '€  ´

      €  '   '€  ³Yeah, like that€  '   '€  ²s going to happen,€  '   '€  ´
      Admiral said under
      his
breath, €  '   '€  ³now, Webb, will you leave my office. I can handle
      it
      from
      here.€  '   '€  ´

Webb started to say something, but quickly stopped when he saw the
      look on the Admiral€  '   '€  ²s face. €  '   '€  ³Yes sir. Goodnight
      Commander,
      Colonel.€  '   '€  ´
And then he left the office.

Admiral Chegwidden sighed deeply, €  '   '€  ³All right, now that
      that€  '   '€  ²s
      taken
care of, let me tell you what€  '   '€  ²s really going
      on.€  '   '€  ´

      €  '   '€  ³You knew about this sir?€  '   '€  ´ Harm asked
      incredulously.

      €  '   '€  ³Yes Commander, I did, and I really didn€  '   '€  ²t
      think it was my
      duty to
tell you every little thing that comes through this office, do
      you?€  '   '€  ´

      €  '   '€  ³No sir, I just thought-€  '   '€  ´
      €  '   '€  ³Good, because its not.€  '   '€  ´ the Admiral
      interrupted, €  '   '€  ³Now,
      here€  '   '€  ²s the
information I have. Lt. Austin has been working on the inside for JAG
for sometime now, but she hasn€  '   '€  ²t been in contact with this
      office.
It€  '   '€  ²s been directly with Webb. She has been posing as the
      US
Ambassador to Russia for almost three and a half years now. She had
been ordered to contact Webb twice a week with any information she
had. After not hearing from her for 3 weeks straight, they looked
into it and it seemed she€  '   '€  ²d disappeared. After doing
      research,
      they
found her tied to many major falls of American officers in Russia,
Vietnam, and Iran. Most of those pertaining to you and the Colonel.
They are still trying to locate Lt. Austin and believe she is
somewhere in Siberia. That€  '   '€  ²s pretty much all I know. And,
      before
      you
ask it, yes, commander, I have been planning for you to defend Lt.
Austin but first we have to find her. Colonel Mackenzie, you will be
assisting the Commander. And of course, where Webb falls into place.
He has requested that you two be briefed over Lt. Austin€  '   '€  ²s
      last
whereabouts and continue the search. You don€  '   '€  ²t have to
      accept.
      It€  '   '€  ²s
      just Webb and you never know what€  '   '€  ²s behind it.€  '   '€  ´

      €  '   '€  ³We€  '   '€  ²ll accept€  '   '€  ´ Harm said
      immediately. Colonel Mackenzie
      nodded in
      agreement.

€  '   '€  ³All right then, you two leave at 1030. You better be on
      your
      way.
      Dismissed€  '   '€  ´

      €  '   '€  ³Aye sir€  '   '€  ´ Harm and Mac said in unison.

As Harm reached for the handle Admiral said, €  '   '€  ³Commander,
      Colonel,
      be
      careful.€  '   '€  ´

      €  '   '€  ³Will do, sir€  '   '€  ´ Mac replied, as the two officers
      exited the
      Admiral€  '   '€  ²s
office. They were walking through JAG headquarters towards their
offices to make the arrangements of their case loads while
      they€  '   '€  ²d
      be
gone. Soon after, Harm came to Mac€  '   '€  ²s office door and
      leaned on
      the
      door panel, €  '   '€  ³You ready?€  '   '€  ´ he asked.

      €  '   '€  ³Yeah, just one minute.€  '   '€  ´ she said, quickly
      picking up the
      phone and
dialing a number she seemed to know well.

      €  '   '€  ³Mic?€  '   '€  ´ she said into the phone. Harm rolled his
      eyes and
      exited her
office, closing the door behind him.

€  '   '€  ³Brumby? I thought she was over him. Sure, she still wears
      that
      ring,
but come on. The guy€  '   '€  ²s a jerk, Mac. We can all see that,
      why
      can€  '   '€  ²t
you? Then again, I may be just a bit biased against
      him€  '   '€  ¥and for
      Mac€  '   '€  ´

Mac hung up the phone about ten minutes later and exited her
      office. €  '   '€  ³You ready, Harm?€  '   '€  ´

      €  '   '€  ³Yeah, let€  '   '€  ²s go. We only have
      about€  '   '€  ¥'€  ´

      €  '   '€  ³Fifty-seven minutes and thirty-three seconds€  '   '€  ´
      she rattled
      off. Harm
just shook his head as they entered the elevator to go down to the
      parking lot.

They stood their in silence for a few seconds before Harm spoke
      €  '   '€  ³Mac,
you don€  '   '€  ²t have to do this you know. She€  '   '€  ²s my
      friend, my old
      partner.€  '   '€  ´

Mac nodded, €  '   '€  ³I know, but you€  '   '€  ²re MY friend, and
      MY partner, so
      I want
      to.€  '   '€  ´

      Harm smiled, €  '   '€  ³Thanks.€  '   '€  ´

      €  '   '€  ³Its not a problem€  '   '€  ¥as long as you promise not
      to attack
      anyone who
offends you. It might hurt your reputation for people to know that
your female partner has to hold you down from fights,€  '   '€  ´ she
      said
      teasingly.

He looked equally amused, €  '   '€  ³Female, yes. But also marine.
      As long
      as I
      tell them €  '   '€  ±Mac€  '   '€  ², the marine, held me down,
      they€  '   '€  ²ll never
      know the
difference. Unless they see you of course, then they€  '   '€  ²d
      definitely
      know.€  '   '€  ´ he said with a twinkle in his eye.

      Mac rolled her eyes, €  '   '€  ³Men€  '   '€  ´ And with that, they
      were on their
      way to
      their houses to pack.

      1000am
      Webb€  '   '€  ²s Apartment
      Virginia

The phone rings four times to an empty house, €  '   '€  ³Hello,
      you€  '   '€  ²ve
      reached
Clayton Webb. I€  '   '€  ²m not available right now, so leave a
      message
      after
      the beep€  '   '€  ´ BEEEEEEEP
      €  '   '€  ³Hi Clay, its Kate. I know you€  '   '€  ²re not home but
      I wanted to
      call you
and thank you for dinner last night. I had a wonderful time. I hope
we can see each other again soon. Talk to you later, bye.€  '   '€  ´

      1030am
      Dulles International Airport
      Washington D.C

€  '   '€  ³Welcome passengers to flight 331 flying from Washington
      D.C,
      America
to Moscow Russia. Please fasten your seatbelts and secure all luggage
in the over head compartment. Keep the trays in front of you in the
upright position until we reach a steady altitude. Thank you, and
      enjoy your flight€  '   '€  ´

Harm and Mac got settled in their seats as the plane began to take
      off.
Harm looked longingly out the window. Mac noticed as she always did
when he had flying on his mind.

€  '   '€  ³Hey, you really miss it, huh? Even after you came back
      and
      everything. It€  '   '€  ²s too bad you can€  '   '€  ²t have the
      best of both
      worlds, huh?
      A tomcat-flying JAG officer? Hmm, you never know, flyboy.€  '   '€  ´
      she
      said
      with a smile.

€  '   '€  ³Gosh, I love that smile. So innocent, yet sexy. She
      really is
everything I€  '   '€  ²ve ever wanted in a woman. But
      she€  '   '€  ²s Mac; and
      she has
      that whole Brumby thing going on.€  '   '€  ´

Harm€  '   '€  ²s thoughts were interrupted by the stewards standing
      over
them, €  '   '€  ³Commander Harmon Rabb, Jr. and Colonel Sarah
      Mackenzie?
      This
message just came to you from Washington D.C.€  '   '€  ´

      €  '   '€  ³Thank you€  '   '€  ´ Mac said, taking the note. Quickly
      reading over
      it, she
      turned and looked at Harm, €  '   '€  ³Guess who?€  '   '€  ´

      €  '   '€  ³Webb€  '   '€  ´ he replied.

She nodded, €  '   '€  ³He says that the hotel we were supposed to
      stay at
cancelled our reservations and they only hotel with any vacancies is
the one next to it,€  '   '€  ´ she said, looking obviously ticked.

Harm didn€  '   '€  ²t know why, €  '   '€  ³What? Is it not as nice
      of a
      hotel?€  '   '€  ´

      €  '   '€  ³Oh, no, in fact, it€  '   '€  ²s even nicer.€  '   '€  ´

      €  '   '€  ³Well, then what€  '   '€  ²s wrong?€  '   '€  ´

She cleared her throat and began to read, €  '   '€  ³The hotel has
      cancelled
your reservations and the only one with any vacancies is the one next
door. It€  '   '€  ²s a much nicer hotel, but they only had one room
      available.€  '   '€  ´

      €  '   '€  ³Well, its not like we haven€  '   '€  ²t done the
      €  '   '€  ±staying in the
      same room€  '   '€  ²
thing before. I€  '   '€  ²ll take the couch, you have the bed, like
      always.
      Why
      is this bothering you so much?€  '   '€  ´

She feigned a smile, obvious to him, €  '   '€  ³Oh, silly old me
      forgot to
      say
who the letter was addressed to, €  '   '€  ³Mr. and Mrs. Harmon Rabb,
      Jr.€  '   '€  ´
