Group Description

This list is dedicated to the discussion of Bearded Collie breeding and those performance areas considered important in decisions leading to the breeding of individual dogs. It is open to anyone interested in the continuation of the breed as an active, healthy, versatile, and unspoiled breed. It is NOT a breeder only list. Breeding items for discussion include, but are not limited to, the standard; why, when, and how to make breeding decisions; reproduction issues; whelping; raising litters; contracts; determining potential owners; and supporting puppy buyers. The discussions on this list do not replace veterinary advice in any way. Performance areas include showing, any and all aspects, such as the finer points of presentation, judges and their preferences, tools, building relationships and majors, and grooming tips. Other performance areas may include herding, agility, obedience, Rally, and tracking, but are limited to discussion on how they relate to decisions on breeding or in socializing puppies. The finer training points are best left to lists specializing in teaching the specifics. Individuals are encouraged to "brag," announce births and deaths, and to inform the membership of services and items which may be helpful in any of these areas. Personal business and puppy sale ads are not allowed. (Individuals may approach the listowner for permission to post items they are not sure would be allowed). Attachments and photos may be uploaded to the files, but can not be sent with the posts. FLAMING AND PERSONAL ATTACKS ARE NOT PERMITTED.
