      The Event: This race is the Maryland RRCA State Championship 5K. It is
      a meant to be a fast race on a course designed for fast times, followed
      by a party at a venue known for its own fast times!

      Course Information: The need for speed, hence flat, flat, flat and fast,
      fast, fast, fast, and fast. Race starts on Boston Street in front of the
      Bay Cafe, goes northwesterly on Boston Street, west on Fleet, south on Anne,
      east on Aliceanna (1 mile mark), southeasterly then east on Boston (2 mile
      mark by Korean War Memorial Park), south on Clinton to the turnaround, north
      on Clinton, west on Boston to Bay Cafe, with right turn to the finish at
      Kenwood.

      Prizes and Awards: Cash prizes to top 5 open, top masters and top grandmaster
      male and female as follows: 1st Open: $200, $100, $75, $50, $25. 1st Masters:
      $75, 1st GrandMaster: $50 YOU MUST BE AN RRCA CLUB MEMBER TO BE ELIGIBLE
      FOR A CASH PRIZE. Any athlete who has high-school or college-level eligibility
      will receive a hand-shake instead, and the cash prize will be donated to
      the Maryland RRCA.

      Awards may be double-dipped. The open winner is also the age-group champion.
      If a Masters runner wins the race outright, that runner will receive 1st
      Open, 1st Master, and age group awards.

      A person placing in the top five can also place in the age-group.


      Numerous random prizes.


      Entry fees: Walk-Up September 1/2/3 - $22, Race Day Registration: $25 -
      Please, our goal is to encourage everyone plan ahead and register early
      in order to plan for the for the logistics.

      High school coaches wanting to use this event as a time trial for their

      Friday, September 1, 2006, Bay Cafe Happy Hour, 4:00 - 7:00 PM

      Saturday, September 2, 2006: Falls Road Running Store, 6247 Falls Road,
      Baltimore, MD, from 11:00 AM until 5:00 PM

      Sunday, September 4, Baltimore Running's 5K Store, 736 South Bond in Fells
      Point from 12:00 until 4:00 PM

      Race Day Packet Pick-Up - 7:15 AM, Bay Cafe

      Beneficiary : All net proceeds will be donated to the Maryland Roadrunners
      Clubs of America. The Maryland RRCA is a non-funded state chapter of the
      Road Runners Clubs of America, a national 501(c)(3) organization, and locally
      organizes and sponsors the state Grand Prix Series and the Women's Distance
      Festivals.
