Re: Sizes for Kahley
- Marge: Good point. I worked for Sport Chalet waaay back when it was
just the main store and ski shop in La Canada, CA. A vast majority
of our women customers fit in the size range of 8 to 12. But we
ALWAYS had a ton of size 8 and under left over at the end of the
season. If you look on the clearance racks of clothing stores,
you'll also see that a majority of the left over sizes are in the
small end of the scale. So, either the buyers are only purchasing
smaller quantities of the larger sizes as compared to the smaller
sizes, or the largers sizes, when clearanced, are the first to go.
With the advent of the internet and online shopping, it is much
easier to aquire the larger sizes on-line. But for people like me
who can wear anything from a 14 to and 18 (sometimes within the same
clothing line), I like to try things on before purchasing.
There isn't an easy answer to this. Women want the larger sizes, but
buyers and retailers take a chance in purchasing larger quantities of
the larger sizes that may or may not move.
If there are any buyers or manufacturer's reps out there, I'd like to
hear your point of view, good or bad.
