      Gosh Rebecca, you're braver than me. I've been desperately trying to
      cut my pack weight but somehow don't want to leave the tent at home.
      Let us know how the Hex 2 works out and maybe I'll splurge on a Hex 2 or
      BD Mega Light, my Silshelter wouldn't cut it.

      Last week it was basically ice above 6.000 feet in the Donner area - had
      a nervous time of it without crampons or axe when the temp never seemed
      to get above freezing one day. Kicking steps was exhausting and in
      places impossible, had to detour. Lucky I had the poles or I'd still be
      up there, or maybe down there:). Hope we get some more snow soon.
