Pfeffermint was able to school me in getting RSS feeds to my i Google
page. Does anyone know if it is possible to set up daily searchs on
craigslist for Bunn Espressos and have the results delivered to that
same page? If it is possible how do you do it?

        Mark,

Tex posted a link in the Links section to a craigslist-wide search for
Bunn espresso equipment. I tried to click it this evening & it didn't
work! TEX! Can you take a look at why??

Once it is working properly, you should be able to tell your browser
that you want to subscribe to the search's RSS feed, copy the feed's
URL, and then go to your iGoogle page & add the feed there. I do this
in Firefox, and its a snap.

If you still have trouble, let me know what browser or feed reader
you're using, & I'll see if I can't figure it out on this end.

        David

It works just fine. It checks for listings posted within the past 24 hours. Expand the search for past postings if you d like. Tex

Allows you to create custom RSS feeds for eBay auctions.

Then go into your iGoogle and "add a gadget"
                http://www.google.com/ig/directory?q=rss&hl=en&root=%2Fig&dpos=top
You can do a search from add a gadget for RSS and there are a couple
different ones. I know the one I have works sometimes and others it
                doesn't.

What I do through Firefox is I added an "Add On" to the browser (under
tools) and now I have a sidecar window "Wiz RSS" which has multiple
RSS feeds all updated without needing iGoogle up.

                Scott

                p.s. Hope this helps.

ALSO.. check out http://www.google.com/alerts and you can type in the
search terms you want and it will simply send you an email
everyday(week, or as it happens too) regarding those search terms.

For example I started one for "bunn espresso craigslist" and when ever
Google sees a new listing for that it will email me.

Ok... what else can I talk to myself about...

I have not tried this one but it looks to be worth a shot. I am
thinking you may want to use your "alternate" junk mail email address
to have the rss feed sent to you.

I still think the built in http://www.google.com/alerts that sends you
emails with all the new listings is the way to go. Set up the same
search in Google alerts and let it send you emails every day regarding
                          those search terms.
Put this string in the search field:
bun OR bunn AND espresso OR espress OR express OR expresso
                          site:craigslist.org

I have a few of these alerts set up for various things like local
news, web inquires, and website updates. Simple and no hassle setting
                          up an RSS feed.

I always consider myself to be pretty good with computers. I did get
the RSS feed thing figured out but now I feel like I have to go
somewhere and wait for my head to explode. For anyone using Tex's bunn
Search to find bunn espresso machines copy the link as follows

bun OR bunn AND espresso OR espress OR express OR expresso
                              site:craigslist.org

                              go to This page http://www.rssfeedsgenerator.com/
and select google and hit next step.

It opens a window that says something like you can paste up to ten
searces each on a line. Just paste Tex's search in there and hit enter
and it will generate an rss feed. Copy the feed. Then go to your
iegoogle page make sure that you are logged in. press the button in
the upper right hand corner that says "add stuff" . The page will
change and find the Rss symbol next to the item that says Add feed or
gadget. When you press that it will ask for the url and all you do is
paste the url into that and hit add and you are done and the search
should appear on your google page every day. Mine has not appeared yet
so who knows maybe I did something wrong.
