      hi all, i am a new member to the group. i just bought an es-1 off ebay and it doesnt have a portafilter. to fit the e61 head - are they brass or ss? could someone be so kind and point me in the right direction to find a good quality portafilter that will fit the e61 group on this machine? thanks ahead of time!

      They ate chrome-plated brass. Any portafilter for an E61 group should work. I am currently using one off of my Brasilia with an E61 group and it fits fine.

        I meant they ARE chrome plated brass. Espresso Parts Northwest is a good supplier. You might want to consider a bottomless portafilter.

          i ended up purchasing part number F_2381 which is a faema complete portafilter (the staff even said it would fit) but it seems that the tabs would need to be

            i ended up purchasing part number F_2381 which is a faema complete portafilter (the staff even said it would fit) but it seems that the tabs would need to be filed down or something to make it fit the grouphead - it gets jammed and does not tighten.

            i thought the faema portfilters would fit - does anyone know of one that would
