I had a Bunn ES-1a I was meaning to restore. It sat for a while. When I never really looked at it in depth. I opened the controller box and someone has removed the controller and put in some sort of switch on the front to make it manual.

The entire controller is gone ... the board ... everything in that black box.

The machine is otherwise in decent shape. I could (in theory) get a controller and try and bring it back or simply sell it to someone who could use it for spare parts.

Do controllers exist and if so, how much are they?

If anyone is around in the Colorado (North of Denver) area, they can have it for $150. With two porta filters and everything but that controller that seems a fair price. It has one of the automatic milk foaming devices that goes on the end of the wand and then a tube goes into your milk pitcher.

Oh well ... I was all set to restore this thing too.

Have you thought of borrowing someone s board and having it duplicated? There might be someone in this group that has a machine currently not in use that

All it does is level control and automatic dosing... Still a crap ton cheaper than a new machine ... [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
