      Howdy back at 'ya!

Yes, that link is for the newer version of the blue UFO, now black and
touted as a popcorn popper/nut roaster. You'll notice the picture
shows the device filled with mixed nuts - not popcorn!

I am amused further by the fact that if you scroll down on the Amazon
page, you'll notice that under FREQUENTLY BOUGHT TOGETHER with this
popper is the Sunpentown Turbo Oven!!! I know what they're building!
I (as far as I know) pioneered the use of the UFO instead of a Stir
Crazy. Check out http://snipurl.com/ufo_story to see the writeup I
      did on homeroasters.org.

The UFO has a metal stir shaft, alleviating the replacement of the
plastic shaft on current Stir Crazy units. I only had to disconnect
the heating element & replace the plastic stir arm hub with a 6mm wing

I believe the overall diameter of the UFO is smaller than the Stir
Crazy. I topped the spacer ring with high heat silicone tubing to
grip the glass of the turbo oven, thus keeping it from slipping one
      way the other.

Last time I was in Texas (Austin a month or so ago), I went into a
Macy's & saw the black UFO on a clearance table - they had a bunch of
them at like 40 or 50% off! I had no way to deal with buying a few &
getting them back to DC, so I left them. Is there a Macy's near you?

Anyway, I've been very happy with the thing, and I have used it about
every 6 days for 2.5 years! She's still going strong.

      Happy roasting,
