John, if I remember correctly, the number at the end of the response when a USER command is issued was
the number of free buffers... something like that. In the latest version, a USER command generates this
number twice, i.e.:
KVJ:KV7J-4} G8BPQ Network System V220.127.116.11 for Win32 (609 609)
