      Stephen,

It looks like FBB thinks it is in block forwarding mode when only plain text forwarding is enabled. It is odd that it only fails one way round, though.

Enabling "Allow Binary" on the BBS record for VE9MPF will probably fix  it.

      73,
      John

      <VE9MPF Hi Pete and all,
      <VE9MPF
<VE9MPF So Maria put steel wool on the tips of the bunny ears? At least it looks
<VE9MPF cute all fuzzy and stuff.
      <VE9MPF
<VE9MPF Hmmm, following you around HF and 2M with a CB set? Only goes to show
<VE9MPF that sort of mentality and I thought people were dumb when they saw the
<VE9MPF 2M mobile and asked "Is that a cee bee?" If not for Burt Reynolds the
<VE9MPF question would be what kind of radio is that but now everything's a CB.
      <VE9MPF
<VE9MPF Interesting, we must have paralell lives, I knew this CBer on Staten
<VE9MPF Island (NY) who shocked the church congregation next door when he blasted
<VE9MPF full volume through the electric organ. Makes a good case for leaving the
<VE9MPF pipes alone. Speaking of garage doors, recently people living in the area
<VE9MPF of a military base had them mysteriously operate on their own until
<VE9MPF someone figured out it was the new 300MHz trunked radio system. It took a
<VE9MPF whole lot of convincing but they finally agreed to change the channel
<VE9MPF setting from default. The base radio system change channels? Not in your
      <VE9MPF wildest dreams! (;->)

      <VE9MPF
<VE9MPF Re the cost of installing solar power on rooftops of private houses, I got
<VE9MPF the following from a friend who has just had it installed.:::
      <VE9MPF
<VE9MPF >There are umpteen Solar Power providers around with prices for a 1.5Kw system ranging from about
<VE9MPF $2000-$3000 including Government subsidies. The latter are being scaled
<VE9MPF back by about $1200 from July, although it would be necessary to sign up
<VE9MPF some 3 months before that to "get on the list". The prices seem to vary
<VE9MPF depending on the source of supply of the inverter and the solar panels
<VE9MPF themselves. We have opted for a German made 1.7Kw inverter which comes
<VE9MPF recommended for low RF noise based on the experience of at least one ham
<VE9MPF who is a keen VHF operator, plus other recommendations. The panels are by
<VE9MPF Suntech which are made by a Chinese crowd who also come with good
<VE9MPF recommendations. Our system is costing $2990 plus a charge from Western
<VE9MPF Power to change the meter to a digital type. So for every unit generated
<VE9MPF you save that cost (about 20c),plus if you generate more than you are
<VE9MPF using at any time you get credited 47c/unit for the power "bought" by the
<VE9MPF supplier. At the cost of the system the savings produced are a bit better
<VE9MPF than keeping the money in the bank and you don't have to pay tax on bank
<VE9MPF interest, depending on your circumstances. If you
<VE9MPF have a low power bill in the first place (like yourself with the low gas
<VE9MPF bill), you may pay off the system relatively quickly and even eventually
<VE9MPF enjoy a positive balance on your electricity account!>
      <VE9MPF
<VE9MPF From the above it can be seen that the cost in this state at least is not
      <VE9MPF very high.

      <VE9MPF
      <VE9MPF Hi Pete and all,
      <VE9MPF
<VE9MPF Going back over those early boilers and such makes me wonder just what
<VE9MPF qualifies as a locomotive. Hmmm, coal smoke, hot oil and steam are gone
<VE9MPF but not forgotten even if here in the East a coal strike in 1957 put an
<VE9MPF earlier end to it than modernization elsewhere.
      <VE9MPF
<VE9MPF A steam locomotive in Welsh coal mines? Possible, but I think you're
<VE9MPF confusing them, smaller "fireless cookers" were used underground and
<VE9MPF around hazardous atmospheres. Basic pressure vessels with drivers they
<VE9MPF were limited but without fires at least they didn't cause explosions.
      <VE9MPF
<VE9MPF You mentioned Puffing Billy, he's Australian and hauls tourists around
<VE9MPF Queensland unless I'm mistaken. Don't look now but he's not the original,
<VE9MPF that one works the colliery at Beemish Museum UK and is much older. Funny
<VE9MPF how when you have a hobby like trains you learn a new bit of history
      <VE9MPF nearly every day.
      <VE9MPF
<VE9MPF Now these days I live but one block from the New Jersey Transit tracks
<VE9MPF and hear them go by all day and well into the night. Used to be the sound
<VE9MPF of a train had me running to see what it was but that was years ago and
<VE9MPF the Pennsylvania RR with mixed passenger and freight and all sorts of
<VE9MPF locomotives. Now they're all Alstom double deck coaches and P42AC
<VE9MPF locomotives, on a commuter line if you've seen one you've seen them all.
